A Taste of Hong Kong
Hong Kong has a population density of 6644 people per km2, placing the city fourth in the world. Day or night, weekday or weekend, it is not uncommon to see the streets be packed with people. But even in such a compact city, it does not lose its capacity to uphold some of the best food and views. Even though I spent part of my childhood in the "Pearl of the Orient", there's still so much to explore.
I had the opportunity to pop back home for a short visit and took some time to record some of my favourite things. It is, of course, not a complete list, but I had a very strict time constraint for this trip. Because it was a family-oriented trip, I only had 1 out of the 9 days I was there to do my own thing.
No matter how many times I go back I don't think I can ever get used to how humid and how compact everything is, not to mention there are so many people everywhere. And though I speak perfectly fluent Cantonese, it can still get frustrating as I am forced to translate everything in my mind from English. Another thing I cannot get used to is the portion of meals. I had never had a meal where I felt I was completely full when compared to Canada. However, there are so many options to choose from, so I should not be complaining as I got variety for exchange.
I am only complaining because I have seen the city so many times, but trust me, this city has a lot of charms that I have yet to discover. This is just a little teaser of what Hong Kong can be like, but is not restricted to what I am showing here. For those curious, visit the city once for yourself and you'll know what I'm talking about. I will definitely also be coming back to unearth more of Hong Kong's magic.
